It looks a bit like a theater screen, doesn't it? There's not enough programming available that can support the need for an 8K television, so it seems like a waste to me. The huge screen is amazing though!

If I could splash that kind of cash, I would. But it's a bit obscene to buy a television that costs as much as a year of college.

Yes, this is a path many companies wouldn't easily follow, considering that the average person isn't going to splash $30,000 for a TV set. It would have been better for LG to create the 8K resolution, with 8K content available.
