Over time, it has probably been proven that the high-end TVs don't necessarily outdo the mid-range ones, in terms of performance and so there may be a save on cost, when the right choice is made. Like other gadgets, these devices are always being upgraded but to most people (like me) what always matters is the resulting image quality.

Great guide here. I love that Wirecutter tests electronics with multiple price points. I'm waiting to see what happens with Black Friday this year, but the LG C8 OLED from this guide looks nice.
