If you want a robot to do your floors, be prepared to pay a princely sum. I don't think it's unreasonable to pay more for a robot that empties its own dustbin. The latest model is as hands-off as you can get.

Well, if a person doesn't want to pay those prices, they should buy a knockoff band or just vacuum and mop their own floors. It's not that hard.

I'm patiently awaiting CNET's test results before buying these two. I have a much older model and need to get a newer one, but I want to make sure the mop and vacuum here works just as well as they claim. Otherwise, I'll buy a Roomba 980.

I want to see the test results too. Especially since the article writer basically said that these robots would have to blow it out of the water in order for him to consider the price tag worth it. If the writer says they're good after testing,... See more

Roombas in general do I great job of picking up the dust that debris that settles underneath the sofa, bed, couch, and other areas that people tend to overlook. I'd say it's worth paying for, particularly if you have pets.

I've had the same Roomba for several years and it still works great. I love the little guy! I'm definitely in the market for an upgrade though. I'm pretty meticulous about the cleanliness of my home, so the device is worth the price for me.

Heh, I actually quite enjoy the act of vacuuming so I've never thought to get one of these. It would be convenient for dusting in hard to reach places like under the sofa or dresser. I still find them to be too expensive.
