According to the company, it expected changes in the Pay-TV industry to be fast. While it is true that the content and network deals are expensive, Vue might have failed to generate the target revenue!

I don't know what changes Sony expected to come into effect, but it makes sense for the company to focus on its core gaming business. Either way, Sony is moving away from Vue because it hasn't been profitable in the past.

The venture wasn't profitable, prompting Sony to make a business decision. It is hard to predict the kind of changes to expect in the Pay-TV scene. Are more people moving away or towards subscription-streaming services?

At least the company didn't suddenly end operations. The competition in the subscription streaming services just got stiffer, with new entrants necessitating a paradigm shift in cost and content. Sony took the necessary and appropriate step!

I wouldn't say competition pushed out PlayStation Vue. It is common for a company to discontinue a product that doesn't generate the projected revenue. Are more people moving or towards Pay TV services?

Whether or not people are moving towards or away from Pay-TV services is subjective. I agree with you that perhaps PlayStation Vue didn't generate the projected revenue, hence the discontinuation.
