Both companies had big launches, and I tend to agree with Google that flooding the market with products could be counter-productive. What are your thoughts?

That's an interesting point made by the article, but I think Amazon already had the leg up thanks to Amazon Prime and affordable devices. The competition started years ago.

The article approaches the issue from a different perspective and makes a strong point. All the same, it doesn't make Amazon a lesser competitor. 'Flooding the market' could also translate to 'offering more variety'.

I think Amazon pushes out so many smart products because it wants to be the first X on the market and in your home. Once they're in, they seem to have customer loyalty. It seems like a decent strategy.

I get the article's point. Sometimes too much variety and choice leads to indecision and by putting out just a few devices, Google can focus on the big things that people need and want. I don't buy Google's sustainability argument though.

All this could be true, but not coming from Google or any other competitor, for that matter. We can look at this from all sides, and conclude that as long there is customer loyalty, Amazon is at liberty to use any strategy.

I think it's baffling that Google essentially just updated their hardware and software instead of adding a new device to their lineup. I don't think that's a good strategy.
