Cybercriminals keep evolving and discovering new ways of scamming people. The biggest threat to identity theft (in my opinion) is through credit cards. I also like the tip about destroying digital data and leaving no trace at all.

I'm still shocked that they're so hard to catch and even when you do know who the culprit is, you might not get anywhere due to that country's lack of an extradition treaty with the US.

Indeed. We can only do so much to protect ourselves because our personal information is very susceptible to be hacked if they are stored in companies, more so with social media websites.
