The announcement could have been made at a time when the company was facing tumultuous times but still it would have proved Facebook's seriousness in protecting users' data. Perhaps this is easier said that done since browsing data is used for target advertising.

I just don't think it's a priority for Zuckerberg or his team. I'd like to see user privacy taken seriously, but the data is already out there. Deleting it now will make little difference I think.

I'd say that Zuckerberg, the board members, and the executive team are looking at user privacy seriously, but they can't determine how to monetize our data while protecting our privacy rights.

This is very true and the board may actually be in a catch-22 situation. The issue of user privacy and monetizing the data requires a careful approach and I believe that this is the direction that Facebook has already opted for.
