What do you think about this? According to some Gmail users, Google is making them pay for storage. Anyone who uses Gmail knows that the large advantage is the free GBs, but some users have used up more than 15GB and now Gmail is making them pay for this. I think this is reasonable, 15GB of free storage is a lot!

Yes, it is reasonable for Gmail to charge users exceeding the 15GB cap. Does the company give prior notice to users? If not, then that could be a problem.

I agree that as long as it is stated somewhere that the maximum is 15GB and after that you pay, it is reasonable. But maybe they are now noticing that this storage is getting out of hand.

I had never heard of the storage cap, until now. Could it be that users get notified once the 15GB plan is nearing exhaustion? I wouldn't mind paying if there was a value attached to it!

That doesn’t come as a surprise to me and it is indeed understandable. But as a Google user, of course it’s not some good news. But I wonder if I will reach such an amount of storage.

Eh, I think this is a pretty slimy move. As if they can't afford to cover the increase in costs of whatever data they're storing? Please. Bad move, Google.

Users have enjoyed free storage for a long time, and it's only fair that the company charges a fee once you cross the 15GB mark. However, this won't be a problem for a majority of users who haven't even used up half of their allocation.
