I try to avoid draining the battery below 20% because essentially, that is often the beginning of trouble. There are a lot of myths around what to do and not do to your laptop battery. I avoid having the power on after it is fully charged plus I never find any comfort in placing the laptop on my lap.

I needed to read this as I've followed the "battery memory" rule since I got my first laptop. I had no idea that things have changed since then.

I feel like there's so much information out there on battery life and how to maximize it. Some tech experts say to charge it as little as possible and others say to keep it charged, always. Confusing!
