Some insurance companies are using internet connected medical devices and trackers to deny claims and raise rates. It's awfully convenient for medical devices to report to your doctor, but did you know that equipment and trackers might also report your data directly to your insurance company? I sure didn't.

Wow, shocking! This article is scary. I think this kind of conduct should be deemed illegal. It's a complete invasion of privacy, and they could be putting people's lives at risk.

Seems a bit shady, but it makes sense to me. Insurance companies don't want to cover costs for people who are increasing their risk. Insurance companies have always worked this way. There's a reason you have to fill out that huge questionnaire... See more

It scares me too and you even wonder how things could pan out in the next decade or so. If any company is interested in gathering users' data, there should be consent. It is creepy for this to be done without their knowledge.
