The newspaper headline sums it up best. It looks like #Facebook is still pushing its #PortalTV which turns your ordinary television into a sort of telecommunications device. Do you think Facebook can be trusted with our information now? #socialmedia #FacebookPortal #WhatsApp #phone #connect

I have to give it to Facebook, the concept does sound pretty cool. No way would I want them to have access to my communications though. They already know too much about me.

Would it be correct to assume that the company is releasing this after success with its first smart-display service? Either way, I am not about to trust Facebook with more personal information, and so I will give these devices a wide berth.

It's not that revolutionary. It's similar to Amazon Show or just FaceTiming online except it works through your television instead of another device. Am I missing something here?

That's essentially it. It's videotelephony . What I've noticed is that people tend to spend the whole conversation checking out their own appearance rather than focusing on the other person and having a genuine conversation. It's maddening!

Would it be correct to assume that Facebook isn't as popular as it used to be a few years back? I hardly log into the site, and this was the case even before the privacy and data scandal. I am not about to trust it entirely anyway!
