I disagree with the article that needing an internet connection to access documents in the cloud could be a deal breaker. Most operations rely on both hot and cold storage of data in the cloud and in-house. There will be backups on in-house... See more
From that list, my only sin is not physically cleaning my desktop and laptop often enough. Cat hair tends to get in the fans and I should clean them out more often.
I think both the Pixel and iPhone are starting to resemble each other too much. Same thing goes for Samsung's models. The article raises a good point, but at the end of the day, most smartphones are eerily similar.
I think it's baffling that Google essentially just updated their hardware and software instead of adding a new device to their lineup. I don't think that's a good strategy.
I do like using VPN for watching movies and download certain applications but I feel like it is becoming more and more difficult to find them. I used Nord VPN for the longest time but wouldn't recommend.
I care much more about having a speedy processing chip and modern camera than I do about the color. There are countless skins available to change the look of a phone.
I regularly install beta updates that seem interesting. It's easy to roll back the update (and the machine if necessary) so why not check out those cool features?
I find it baffling really. Sometimes it looks like Mark Zuckerberg doesn't have a friend in the world, even though the companies that are taking issue with Facebook have similar problems.
It's nice to know what your computer can do, but I just find it easier to use click around the traditional windows explorer interface until I find what I need. I feel the same way on my Mac.
The short battery life is a huge stumbling block for me. It would make work and travel more difficult since I'd have to worry about having power. That's too bad as it looks like a nice laptop.
Sure the battery life isn't spectacular, but it isn't that bad either. Besides that, power banks are cheap and easy to cart around. I think it's worth putting up with the battery for a dual-screen laptop.
Flash drives are handy, portable devices, but they can be easily misplaced. I always have two of these at a go, and I avoid carrying them in my pocket. These small devices will stay around for a while.
That's me. I lose mine all the time. Because they're so small, they're easily misplaced and forgotten about. That's why I keep several of them around and back them up to another drive.
I love the magnetic wraparound keyboard! It makes this device super flexible and was a brilliant idea. I'm interested in getting one of these when they finally come out.
That was an interesting article; I had no idea that IE was that much of an issue. I use Safari, probably for the same reasons people use the browser that came on their Windows computer.
Talk about an upgrade, that's pretty huge. I'm glad they're working on ways to let us tether it a PC as well and it sounds like it will be super easy to do.
Apple's Series 4 smart watch felt like a major upgrade from previous models. Sadly, the Series 5 is basically just a firmware update. I appreciate the option to have an always-on watch face, but I expected more.
The latest Apple Watch added many new features including some that are geared towards women's health. It can also make emergency phone calls for you in other countries, which is great for those who travel a lot for work or pleasure.
I'll make use of the free promo and I'm looking forward to seeing what they've got. I'm particularly interested in their new sci-fi series, For All Mankind.
It feels like they've been teasing us with the PS5 forever! I'm so ready for an upgrade; I've had my PS4 for ages. Please Sony, just get this new console out already.
Apple Arcade will have some stiff competition for sure. It'll be interesting to see which gaming subs are around in a few years and which ones have failed.
The Urbanears headphones look really nice. I just don't like nor do I understand why they don't have any volume controls? I also really like the 1MORE earphones, those look nice and expensive.
I've noticed many wired headphones are that way, regardless of brand. Maybe the manufacturers figure it's just as easy to adjust the volume through the device as it is through the headphones.
I'm anxious to see what games will be made available and whether Apple will have any exclusive deals. Most of the gaming subscriptions are affordable. Nintendo Switch Online goes as low as $3.99 a month, so Apple can't afford to alienate new... See more
I'm excited to see what Apple creates, but I think they'd be better served to release two models instead of three. Make one phone that is super high-end and another that is more budget friendly.
I use an older model that still has the jack, so I may not understand the experience of a person owning a phone without a wireless jack. Either way, I think we will all (somehow) get used to the changes.
It really isn't that different of an experience. Wireless earbuds have come a long way and the AirPods and Powerbeats Pro sound fantastic. I just like having the option of using a headphone jack too.
Nice, informative review here. Portability is worth sacrificing for since we're often on the go. Mobile games tend to focus on quick games that can be played in a few minutes rather than building a detailed story with well designed graphics. ... See more
HTC's VR headset is excellent with lots of cool features, but I don't think it will take off with gamers should it ever be marketed that way. The Oculus Quest beat it to market, has a good stable of compatible games, and is a fraction of the... See more
Thanks for sharing this deal, Lachlan86. I snagged one for my niece who just graduated from high school and is heading to college. It looks like a handy device.
Lately, I think camera companies have started acting like smartphone companies. They're all just in a rush to push out something "new" instead of creating something unique.
I agree with you on that. What's odd about this updated version is that it doesn't seem like Nikon added any cool features. There's just nothing special here.
The device streams music too, so it's hardly outdated and I think some people will buy one simply because it's a high-end brand that's easily recognized.
I really like this device, especially its ability to tuck away its pen in such an easy manner. Maybe it's just me, but I've lost my stylus on more than one occasion. The pen outline of this device works as a reminder to put it back before... See more
Thanks for sharing your informative review! Since it's made by a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, I wonder if consumers will be cautious about buying these phones. How much damage has the battle between the U.S. and Huawei done to other... See more
I really don't think consumers care that much about it, unless they work for the government. I already have an iPhone so I'm not interested in this smartphone, but I think competition is a good thing and we're already in a global economy. It's... See more
There are plenty of people who refuse to shop online for whatever reason. Maybe Walmart's tablets will appeal to that demographic. The fact that all three tablets come with a detachable keyboard is a huge bonus in Walmart's favor.
It's a nice TV set, but it will be a long time before I trust Vizio enough to buy their electronics again after it came out that Vizio was siphoning and retaining data about the things their customers watched without Vizio asking for... See more
Eh, Samsung and Sony have been dinged too for failing to respect their buyer's privacy. Maybe this Vizio TV is a safer bet when it comes to privacy since it's not a smart television.
Yes please on faster load times and better graphics. Yes also to cross-generational playing with backwards compatibility. I just wish they'd speed up the release date.
Samsung rushed to try and be an early adopter and it bit them in the behind. Even if they bounce back (which I'm sure they will), their reputation will still be tarnished.
Wasn't it already tarnished though? Not long ago Samsung made phones with batteries that exploded and caught on fire. I don't think beta testing is Samsung's strong point. Consumers still eat it up.
I think price plays a big part and Huawei makes a few of the more inexpensive phones that are still decent. Apple has never sought to be accessible by all and although Samsung offers some affordable models, the company has suffered from... See more
I don't know if I'll jump on this one or not when it's available. The reviews sound good though. I'm interested to see where VR will take us in the future and will be staying tuned.
I'm with you @Lachlan86, I wouldn't spend that much on a laptop that didn't offer the best screen resolution. However, Razer's gaming laptops are supposed to be super speedy which might matter more to some gamers than 4K capability. I guess... See more
I love the idea of having a projector that fits into your pocket, but in the past when I've bought such small projectors their picture turned out disappointing. I really hope the reviewer is right and that this model is a big improvement.
We've become so used to privacy problems with big tech that it doesn't even matter anymore. We're just too jaded, myself included. I would be more shocked if they started caring about privacy.
I haven't used free antivirus software in a long time. I always figured that paid software would perform better. I'm currently using Kaspersky and I think it gets the job done.
I've always preferred wired earbuds, so I wasn't too happy when Apple got rid of the headphone jack. I like the AirPods though, as far as wireless models go. I don't think Microsoft will take a huge bite out of that market.
They just gave us a new model a few months ago and now they're hyping a new one that still isn't much different than what they already produce. I'm a dedicated Apple fan, but they really need to step back and work on their innovation.
I'm loving the Touch ID fingerprint sensor, long battery life, and awesome camera. Best yet is that it works with the Apple Pencil. This latest version adds enough features that it's worth making the upgrade.
I wouldn't pay that much because technology rapidly changes today. Why pay so much when a newer, better model with more features will be coming down the pipeline in a year or so? I'd wait and buy the older model at a better price.
I've used Burner before and the service is good, but its costly because the virtual numbers are "burned" within a fairly short period unless you pay more.
Wireless earphones are now the choice for most people though I have never been a huge fan for these. Could we say that these buds are an alternative for the AirPods?
I couldn't handle that either. I'd end up in a wreck because I'd watch the device rather than the road. The device looks like a simple video game to me.
I would love to see them come back with a modern phone. I used Blackberry phones exclusively until the first iPhone came out. Blackberry failed to keep up with the pace technology.
I love this game and I'm anxiously awaiting the start of Season 8. Rumor has it that it will start on the 28th. I always enjoy playing, but the start of each new season is the most exciting just to see what the developers have come up with.
I think it caters to such a small niche that I honestly don't see the point, but hey, good for them. I remember the Kickstarter campaign that the Raspberry Pi creators launched years ago and they've achieved a lot since then. They've been... See more
I like the hybrid concept, but I can't imagine women going for these. They're much too big. They'd also be tough to wear to work, unlike Apple's more sedate model (depending on the style chosen).
I'm not so sure, Piperz. Look at how often companies are breached and leak information. Look at how often their social media accounts run rogue. Anything is possible. I could see them purposefully leaking one or two new designs, but not the... See more
I'm interested to see how this plays out. I don't "trust" Google, but if the company was going to make it harder to block ads in order to gain revenue, wouldn't they have done so years ago?
Will this bring in a new demographic? I'm sure that's their aim. Perhaps those who love their budget-friendly Amazon Fire tablet will switch to Apple devices at the right price.
I sure hate to hear about jobs being made redundant and people facing unemployment. According to the article education seems to be the safest field. Unfortunately, it often requires a degree for a job that doesn't pay well.
Whenever there's a chance to drive chaos, there will always be a mischief maker. Regulation won't change that. Instead, tech experts need to find a better way to jam the drone controlling mechanism around airports.
Hasn't the hype for 5G technology been there for the longest time? I am looking forward to the transfer speeds being 10 times higher than is possible with 4G. This optimism is slightly dimmed by the fact that these speeds will depend on factors... See more
Right, I think we're jumping ahead here. Sadly, some users will wind up paying a premium for faster speeds that they can't actually get because the infrastructure just isn't there yet.
Won't disabling updates for obsolete devices hurt Apple in the long run? The article says those devices no longer receive an updated iOS. Won't that make them vulnerable to malware?
It's a shame it's come to this, but Jupiter has a good idea about installing cameras and warning devices to protect their students. You have to be proactive in this day and age.
I must say that the terms are somewhat confusing. I prefer to use AR or VR because at least the distinctions are clear. Whatever name they give it, this is what we'll play with for the next decade or so. I'm looking forward to the great products... See more

I've never owned a set of Beats headphones and wondered whether the brand is truly premium enough to command such a high price in the first place. Any opinions from owners?
While I don't own the version listed here, the Beats Solo3 headphones are excellent for listening to rap and pop music. They feel comfortable and you can't beat the bass.
I've been listening to The Dream podcast which is about the rise and fall of various Multi-Level Marketing schemes. You should try it if you're a fan of learning through podcasts.
That was a fun read. I started using Amazon Echo when it first came out or I'd give Google Home a try. From reading the article, Google Home sounds similar to the model I have.
I just don't think it's a priority for Zuckerberg or his team. I'd like to see user privacy taken seriously, but the data is already out there. Deleting it now will make little difference I think.

Here's the thing, Amazon makes money off the deal when Alexa orders from Amazon, so of course it's important to them to get the technology down. The same isn't true for Apple.
Some of the action cameras listed aren't much less than a refurbished GoPro or one that's a season behind, so I'd probably stick with that brand. They're durable and they create amazing videos and photos.
Delay, delay, delay. I wonder if it's catching fire during test runs. Something major has happened or Apple wouldn't have gone to the trouble to scrub it from its website.
Smaller devices are so much easier to tote around. I'm surprised that Apple is going larger when the rest of the tech world is going smaller. They know what they're doing though.
I was given one as a wedding present years ago and it works fairly well. Sometimes it scatters debris, but according to the article, the newer models don't do that anymore.
I like gadgets of this sort. It's cool to have environmentally friendly ways to charge my devices. You'd really need to live in a windy area or have easy access to a safe stream for this to be ideal.
In practice, a lot of what they suggest makes it more difficult to browse the web, buy stuff online, and chat on my favorite sites. I care about my privacy, but only at my convenience.
