I just posted an article that lists a great deal for Chromebooks coming up on Black Friday. It may be the perfect time to finally purchase one - I've been considering it for ages.
Lachlan86
I love the colors in this photo. It has a very beautiful aesthetic. Makes me want to buy some smart lights and get a nice mood going on in my office :)
Lachlan86
Nice! Supposedly this laptop can handle two 6k monitors? I have to wonder who even has one 6k monitor let alone two? Regardless, this looks like a great laptop.
Lachlan86
Oh great. Another tool that can be used to stalk and track us down for marketers to send their super important spam emails. On the plus side, maybe I can find my favorite celebrity's email address? :P
Lachlan86
Eh, I think this is a pretty slimy move. As if they can't afford to cover the increase in costs of whatever data they're storing? Please. Bad move, Google.
Lachlan86
I can see why they would do this. There are many people who are upset with the way the inner workings of electronics have been made near inaccessible, especially cell phones. Remember when you could easily take out your cell phone battery?
Lachlan86
No, I wouldn't. I love Chromebooks for what they are. I wouldn't purchase an expensive one that has less power than my main computer. That's just silly.
Lachlan86
Oh my goodness, look at the size of those things. Maybe it's just a bad angle? Who has ears large enough to comfortably wear those? .
Lachlan86
Funny how Microsoft just flies under the radar and suddenly comes out with a folding device while the world is still reeling from Samsung's flop :)
Lachlan86
Glasses that have the ability to covertly snap photos of unsuspecting subjects is definitely a huge concern. I can definitely understand why they would want to avoid that can of worms altogether.
Lachlan86
I actually know someone who had their phone catch on fire! It was really scary. It's one of those things where you kind of think "it won't ever happen to me"...except it can.
Lachlan86
Gosh, that's a bit over the top if you ask me.  Having a slight glow is the flashiest I want my computer case to be :) But, hey, whatever floats your boat.
Lachlan86
If I was using it frequently, I would definitely purchase it. Constantly renting isn't cost effective, and at the end of the day, you own nothing.
Lachlan86
I'm a bit confused by the article...most tech companies aren't turning a profit? Does that mean they're in danger of "shutting the doors" so to speak?

That's quite an affordable TV and it will certainly appeal to a lot of people shopping for Smart TVs. My only problem would if I kept being bombarded by ads, like is the case with other similar TV sets.
Lachlan86
I've read a few other comments online about people being bombarded with ads on their Smart TV. I'm stumped, because I owned a Smart TV a few years ago (it broke during a move unfortunately) and nothing of the sort ever happened. Is this a recent... See more

Razer is becoming like Apple. I'm not too happy with them recently. I used to be a big fan of their products, but the last couple of things I purchased from them have been subpar. It's super disappointing.  Hopefully this laptop does what they... See more

The smaller screen may pose a concern for those who have vision problems, but it does look cool as heck.  I really hope this vision comes to fruition! I'm always looking for ways to improve my gaming experience.

I've had the same Roomba for several years and it still works great. I love the little guy! I'm definitely in the market for an upgrade though. I'm pretty meticulous about the cleanliness of my home, so the device is worth the price for me.

I agree with the reporter - it looks like a cheese grater.  I'm guessing it's done that way in order to keep things  cool, but it looks ridiculous in my opinion.
Lachlan86
Totally agree. I literally said aloud, "It looks like a cheese grater!" Then I scrolled down and read the comments. Glad I'm not alone.

A detachable keyboard is a very attractive feature for many. That feature could make or break someone's decision on which device to purchase. I have a Fire tablet and the display isn't very good. If Walmart can manage to have a nice display at a... See more

I don't really buy it. I don't believe the Huawei scare and I don't believe this one, either. I think people are just being paranoid, or even worse, purposely spreading fake news.
Lachlan86
It's unfortunate, but should be expected. Your data isn't safe anywhere these days. Honestly, I'm even beginning to doubt those "private" search engines like DuckDuckGo are truly private. I'm waiting for their scandal to break any day now.
Lachlan86
Nice! Thanks for sharing. I'm really excited about this. I'm definitely going to be getting an Oculus soon. They've managed to convince me that it's a wise purchase :)
Lachlan86
I think the US is ultimately going to lose this battle one way or the other. Either they'll concede to the fact that Huawei isn't a security threat or they'll lose out considerably by continuing to blacklist the company.
Lachlan86
Love this product. I never considered having a TV that could flip. Ingenious. If it didn't cost over $16,000, I would be purchasing one.  I'll have to wait for the price to go down...a lot!
Lachlan86
Great photos, thanks for sharing. I'm rooting for Huawei to come out of their security scandal unscathed. I think they're being targeted for other reasons and there is no security concern.

Smartphone manufacturers are going to have to get more innovative. People aren't excited by these devices any longer. They are commonplace. The folding phone has roused some excitement, however, I feel the recent failure of the Samsung Fold has... See more

The technology itself is amazing and a wonderful achievement. However, just like everything else, it's going to be exploited and corrupted for profit. It's a shame.
Lachlan86
I'm not so optimistic about the Stadia. Gamers are a picky bunch and hard to please. Everything must run flawlessly for them to be happy. Can Google pull that off? Maybe, but I'm not exactly holding my breath.
Lachlan86
I'm skeptical that the service can deliver the speed and functionality that gamers demand. I'm friends with lots of hardcore gamers and they won't tolerate even a small blip in the game world. They will tweak all the game and computer settings... See more

It's so easy to be tricked these days, especially older people and those of us who aren't very tech-savvy. I get fake text messages all the time that tell me money has been sent to me via Interac e-transfer. To me, it's obvious that it's a scam,... See more

The wording is simply to placate users. By now, we know that it's a farce, but they don't have much of an alternative. They can't very well say "We have to put this policy up to satisfy privacy laws"

I really like the idea of the 10 Minute Mail! I didn't know such a thing was possible. It could really come in handy when you just need a quick email address for an isolated purpose.

The watch looks pretty slick but it seems like it would be hard to interact with the watch without the rotating bezel. It may lead to frustration.

It's true that Netflix costs more than it used to in its inception, however cable bills are over $100 a month. Netflix's fee of $13.99 seems paltry in comparison.
Lachlan86
Many people complain about the high price of Apple products so it makes sense for them to introduce lower cost devices. Their expensive products aren't actually "premium" though, that's just an advertising gimmick.
Lachlan86
I haven't worn a watch in ages and I've only met one person who wears a smartwatch. I've always had the impression these aren't very popular, but they must be, since new models come out all the time?

Interesting. I posted an article here last month about a company stealing the folding phone technology information from Samsung. I was waiting to see who would be first - the thieves or Samsung. Anyway, look at the price of that thing!

The transition is going to be tough, but once automation takes over, I think society will evolve to the next level. We're just thinking about it in the wrong way. If we didn't have to waste time working we could achieve so much more.

Driverless cars will only work if every other car is driverless as well, and they communicate with one another on a network. Sticking a driverless car on a road filled with human drivers is asking for disaster.

I love reading about things like this. Innovative products that help humanity. Projects that don't just make a profit for their creator. Thanks for sharing.
